My aloe vera has hit the peak (more or less) of its bloom for this year.  I haven't noticed much interest in it by the butterflies that have been frequenting the garden.

My aloe vera is blooming too...the first time ever. I didn't even know they bloomed so it was quite a surprise.

The flowers on mine are yellow and point down instead of up. I wonder if we have different types of aloe or if there are just differences in flowers among the aloe vera.

Inspired by your photo, I put up a post this morning.

I've read that there are different varieties; most of them bloom orange, but some bloom yellow, as well. My grandmother's aloe vera is blooming right now, as well - I saw it yesterday. Hers is orange, as well. Mine might come from hers; I don't remember where I got mine.
