Why I love Austin

In the middle of town, near the University, I saw a paperboard sign that said, "Yard Sale, noon - ??" Followed it around the block and came upon a yard full of goodies with no one manning it. On closer inspection, I found this sign.

I love this part of Austin. It's something you'd never find anywhere else in the world -- a container of money that isn't stolen, and a complete lack of disregard for the money made in the venture.
I found a few books and a lightweight black metal bookshelf, and I dropped all the money I had with me ($11 and some change) into the jar. The book shelf is four feet tall and about three feet wide, and it didn't fit into my car. I stuffed and stuffed, and finally, I made it all fit -- but both the passenger and the driver seats had to be pushed all the way back.
It was an uncomfortable drive home -- luckily, I only live a mile or two away.
