These broad leaves look a lot like a waterlily, but in fact, this is a lotus. The blooms look rather different from a waterlily, and the leaves have that strange impermeable quality that causes water to bead up. I prefer these, actually, because of the reflection of the sun on the little beads and puddles of water.
