horse-crippler

It's called a horse-crippler cactus, and it's pretty common in the sandy dirt of southwest Texas. It grows very low to the ground, where it's hard to see and harder to avoid.

It's also called the "Devil's Pincushion". These are very dangerous in the pastures because horses and cattle step on them and get their flesh torn up real bad. We have to drag chains on our tractors and pull up all the cactus. I hate doing it because Im a cactus freak, but have to for the animals.
Hi Peter, my name is also Peter, I would love to take any of your horse crippler cactus or any other nuisance cactus off your hands. I would be willing to pay you a fee plus shipping. Please let me know, I am landscaping my front yard in cacti and yucca.
Thanks,
Peter Crawford
I would also like some Horse Cripplers, Echinocactus texensis, if you could spare a box or two. Thank you
