According to CNN Money, the federal government has begun awarding contracts to corporations to rebuild Iraq after the war. Is it a coincidence that Dick Cheney used to be the CEO of Halliburton Co., one of the corporations to receive a contract?
I've been reading a weblog called Dear Raed for a few days now. It's a fascinating weblog written by a young man living in Baghdad. If you want to know what's -really- happening in Baghdad right now, it's a must-read -- an even-handed report of events and bombings in the city that puts another human face to a place that I can only imagine.
I was speculating a minute ago that a woman I met today, whose name turns up all sorts of negative opinions on Google, might be the most reviled woman in America. To test my theory, I did a Google search for "most reviled woman in America." I found only one entry -- for Linda Tripp. I feel relatively certain that I will never knock her off that pedestal. She doesn't even have competition for the title.
