Homecomings and homegoings

Seems everyone's on a plane at some point this week. Amidst all the homecomings and homegoings, everybody, me included, seems to be spending time at the airport.

Claudia came home this evening, after a summer back home in Romania. I'm so glad to see her, but I know she misses her own home. I can't imagine being halfway around the world from my family. I read Ana's journal as often as she'll update it. She's an American living in London, and her stories make me nostalgic for my trip to Ireland, which is, well, very much not the same place. She makes being an expatriate seem very interesting, but then, she has her husband to enjoy. I can't imagine travelling to a completely different world and not knowing what you'll find there.

Bittersweet? Almost certainly.

Me, I have no mixed feelings about my own travel plans for the weekend. I'm terribly excited about my trip to Toronto. Despite the fact that I'll be in the airport on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, I can't think of a more fun way to spend my weekend than on a random international trip.

Tons of pictures to come, naturally, once I'm back on American soil.
