Claudia and I have decided to start a worm farm.

Yes, we are strange girls. Thank you for noticing.

Don't worry, though -- we're already experienced. We already have a thriving ant farm.

We've wanted to do that (vermiculture) for a long time now. Very cool.

The last book Charles Darwin wrote was about earthworms. He was convinced that human agriculture wouldn't be able to exist without them.

Hello there.... Greetings from Nagaland, India.
Me and my fiance are interested in starting a small scale vermiculture unit to use in our farm. Could you guide and help us with the finer points of setting up one ?
Thank you and keep up the good work that you are doing for nature.
Regards
vikuto

I would like to start a worm farm for fishing bait it is too expensive to buy bait and I am layed off so now is a good time to get started, I could use all the advise I can get. I live in north central Penna. The cold is a factor I may have to overcome with a heated building.

I started my worm farm 3 months ago and still have not harvested any liquid compost but worms have bred well. Any tips on how to speed up composting and keep worms happy. They are only eating our kitchen waste (no grass clippings) and I have stuck to the rules as far as I know.
